Connect, Serve, Grow
Ministry Is Serving Others!
Our Sunday morning ministries
At Faith Lutheran Church, we offer a range of ministries designed to nurture faith, foster community, and provide spiritual growth for all ages, with a special focus on families and youth.
Worship Service
10:30am each Sunday we gather at God's House to rest in God's Word and grace. We are a traditional Church - no fog machine or light show. Just Jesus, prayer, hymns & Bible. Come as you are. We want you here.
Sunday school
Sunday school is offered for children 5-11 years. Older kids usually go to adult Bible study . There is nothing more important you can do that bring your children to Jesus. 9:00am Sundays.
Adult Bible study
Engage, connect, and grow with our always interesting and interactive Adult Bible Studies, Sunday mornings at 9:00am.Topics change often and are 'chapter by chapter' studies or on a relevant topic of the day. .
Our regular ministries
Fellowship building

Family Ministry
"Kids Quest" is where young families come together to eat a meal, learn something new, enjoy an activity and a puppet show.
Youth group
Come engage, connect, and grow with our youth group, building faith and friendships in a supportive Christian community.
Making a difference in the 417 community
Faith Lutheran Church is deeply rooted in Carthage and the wider 417 area. We believe our faith calls us to active service, making a real impact on the lives of our neighbors. Join a church that truly cares and is involved in its community.
417 Community outreach
In 2026 we are having FOUR Chili Cook-Offs to raise money for people in our community who are in need. On the first Tuesday of April, May, June, and July, you can donate a pot of chili, or just come in and buy some chili and take it home to eat! Award given to most votes for "best chili", and all money raised will go to support the corresponding local Homeless Shelter, Food Pantries, and Social organization for the month. Each cook off is held at Faith Lutheran Church 2134 Grand Ave in Carthage
"Mighty Fortress" Renaissance Festival
In October, our Church puts on a 16th century RenFest. We are an official Maple Leaf Festival event and have many fun games, food, cosplay, and things to do. You can complete our "noble quest", fighting off evil knights and rescuing the Princess from the sinister dragon. You can also shop at the faire, make a medieval hat or shield, meet Martin Luther, and be knighted by the Queen! This family friendly event is for fun and education! Admission is free.
Supporting our community
You will see us at Carthage's "Food Truck Fridays" to meet the community doing outreach and free face painting.
For a smaller congregation, we do a lot! We are always looking for people to join us to share God's love in simple ways!
Military & Veteran support
There are many veterans in our Church, including our Pastor. We actively support those serving and those who have served our nation. This year on May 17 we will have a community Prayer Service on Armed Forces Day weekend. You can submit the name of any active duty person you know and we will pray for them by name. VFW and the American Legion will join us too.
We also support our Lutheran Military Support Group (LMSG), which Pastor Dan served on the Board of Directors. This group helps veterans who have come back from combat with PTSD. If you have combat related PTSD, please talk to your brother in arms, Pastor Dan McQuality!
Praying for our nation
We believe it is the Church's job, not government or politicians, who should lead and shape the moral fabric of our nation. On July 5th we will again invite the community to come stress our dependence upon God on Independence Day! Our nation was established upon God's Word and led the world in ending the evils of slavery. Today more than ever the Church needs to keep promoting Jesus and God's eternal Word among us as we have the freedom to do so. July 5th, 2026
Come be part of our community
Together we support one another and reach out with Jesus to our community
